This course introduces and enhances the child’s understanding of the game, and helps to understand and remember the rules of Chess. At the end of the course, participants would be able to complete a game, able to understand the moves when they watch others play and also take part in tournaments.

Participant Profile

• Should be in Class 1 and above (6 yrs+)
• Is able to follow group instructions

Course Content

• Demonstration Type Coaching
• Each session is divided into Concept coaching and practical playing
• Introduction to Chess, board & related terminology, the basic moves of the various pieces, the notation, few short illustrative games, basic check mates and draws; brief opening principles, middle game concepts and end game concepts through illustrations
• Chess puzzles to strengthen classroom understanding
• In-class matches among participants to reinforce learning.
• Limited seats to help individual attention by coach
